Kerry Underwood

Hi! My name is Kerry Underwood and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been practicing therapy for over a decade in the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas. I graduated in 2010 with my  Master’s of Science in Counseling from John Brown University and started my journey in the private practice setting.  I am trained in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and EMDR. My strengths are working with couples and women of all ages.

“Our wounds are often an opening into the very best and most beautiful parts of us”.
– David Richo

I understand that making the decision to go to counseling for the first time (or again!) can be one of the most difficult things you ever do. However, I fully believe that making that step, investing in yourself and/or your relationship, and committing to the work of counseling is a helpful (and hopeful) step in discovering the best parts of you or your relationship. It is my commitment to create a comfortable and safe therapy environment for my clients. My goal is to accept and embrace people where they are while doing the work of discovering the places we, as humans, get stuck in broken and unhealthy cycles- individually and relationally. I believe we are all created for connection and I see all things through a lens of attachment. I will commit to being kind and direct with you throughout your therapy process.

When not working, I love time with my husband and three very active sons. We love adventuring together- camping, hiking, traveling and any time at the beach we can find!
