Kessia Brown
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. Since 2012, I have worked in a variety of settings, including oncology, children and youth mental health services, school social work, and geriatric care. My passion for mental health led me to earn a Master’s degree in Social Work.
I have developed a strong focus on helping young adults struggling with the transition to independence. Many emerging adults find themselves feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their next steps, whether they are facing challenges with motivation, anxiety, depression, career direction, relationships, or daily life skills. I work alongside individuals to build confidence, strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and create realistic, achievable plans for moving forward. My goal is to help clients gain the tools and self-belief needed to step into adulthood with greater clarity and purpose.
Beyond my professional experience, I am a mother to a biological child, an adopted child, and a former foster parent. My personal journey, including navigating adoption, foster care, depression, and anxiety, and supporting loved ones through complex life transitions, has deeply shaped my understanding of the real-world struggles families and individuals face. These experiences allow me to connect with clients in a genuine, empathetic, and practical way.
While I support individuals facing a wide range of concerns, my greatest passion is helping emerging adults move from feeling uncertain and discouraged to feeling capable, motivated, and prepared for the future. I strive to create a safe, supportive space where clients can explore their challenges without judgment and develop the skills needed to build meaningful, independent lives.
No matter what brings you to counseling, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I am here to walk alongside you, helping you find confidence, direction, and hope. Together, we will work toward growth, resilience, and lasting change.
